This week on Wednesday evening July 5th, RIGC was honored to host a film team from the American Museum of Natural History. Our Roosevelt island fireflies came out in droves to give them a show.
We met AMNH entomology curator Dr. Jessica Ware and high school citizen scientist from Ossining NY, Juliana Chauca. Erin Chapman the producer will let us know when this will be aired with PBS.
Juliana is running the Hudson Valley Firefly Project and there is still time for any interested gardeners to participate here on Roosevelt Island. Please see the information here below.
