Our community garden is open to the public every weekend 6 months a year, April 15th through October 15th. Enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the natural world. For Members: Thank you to all who showed up in force for our Spring Meeting both face to face and on zoom! We had more than 80 Members and Associates who joined. |
Mission Statement of the Roosevelt Island Community Garden:
The Roosevelt Island Garden Club (RIGC) is a diverse community of gardening enthusiasts who work together to beautify our Roosevelt Island home, to increase gardening knowledge, and to impart an appreciation for nature, and environmental stewardship among our members and our neighbors.

The Roosevelt Island Garden Club (Community Garden) is located on Roosevelt Island in New York City between the Octagon soccer field and the Pony baseball field. The south garden entrance is across from the Fire Department at 750 Main St. Roosevelt Island Garden Club, Inc. is a leaseholder of the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation and subject to the laws of NY City and NY State.
RIGC members and associates work together as volunteers gardening side by side in this 132 plot community space. Members also work together as volunteers on all administration, maintenance, and upkeep of this beautiful space for our Roosevelt Island community. The gardens are open to the public on weekends from April 15 through October 15.
The Roosevelt Island Garden Club does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. The Roosevelt Island Garden club is a non-profit, volunteer organization for community gardening.
