Roosevelt Island Garden Club has been thrilled to collaborate and volunteer with NYC Compost Hosted by Big Reuse for over two years. In October, 2017 their work was highlighted in the Main Street Wire.
In December, they donated to RIGC again with about 10 cubic feet of compost that is now at the gardens ready for spring sifting and use. This Big Reuse Compost has already amended soil in RIGC, for native plant pollinator plantings behind PS 217, for RI street trees, and for give backs to Island residents.

Of Note: Our Roosevelt Island Food Scrap Drop Site has moved to Good Shepherd Plaza alongside the Market.
